Mr de Roeck is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a practice encompassing  the treatment of adult hip and knee problems.

He graduated from the University of Manchester Medical School in 1994 and undertook basic surgical training in the North West before moving South to take up the Sir John Charnley Research Fellowship in Surrey.

Mr de Roeck underwent higher surgical training on the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital programme.  On completion of his training he spent a year on a Specialist Hip & Knee Replacement Fellowship at the North Shore Hospital, Auckland. This particularly focused on primary and revision hip replacement and computer navigation surgery.

He took up his NHS Consultant post at East & North Hertfordshire NHS trust in 2007. He has served as the clinical director of the department, being recognised with clinical excellence awards and remains the lead clinician for fractured neck of femur care. He maintains a strong interest in surgical education.

Mr de Roeck maintains his private practice at Ramsay Pinehill Hospital, Hitchin and One Hatfield Hospital, Hatfield. Patients with complex medical or surgical needs can also be treated privately at the Lister Hospital by special arrangement.

Mr de Roeck is a very experienced joint replacement surgeon with expertise in all aspects of primary and revision hip replacement surgery. He also undertakes unicompartmental and total knee replacement.

He has developed a practice in the assessment and management of younger adults with hip based groin pain. He undertakes hip arthroscopy for the treatment of patients with Femoroacetabular Impingement (FAI)

Away from work

Mr de Roeck lives in Hertfordshire with his partner and three children. He has become a serious road cyclist having had to hang up his football boots. He is a keen follower of Sheffield United FC and Saracens RFC. Being active and participating in sport has always been an integral part of life and so Mr de Roeck understands the importance of return to play and remaining active.
